$2 Million Price Drop in Rosie O’Donnell’s Star Island, Miami Mansion (PHOTOS)

Rosie O’Donnell’s Star Island beach house was curiously placed on the market last year in March, after her chat show was cancelled by the OWN network. O’Donnell however maintained that she placed the property on the market, since she didn’t need that much space, given that her children (living in New York) only visited her over the weekends in Chicago.
Whatever the reason, the 43 Star Island property has now witnessed a dramatic price cut since its 2011 debut on Miami’s real estate market. The asking price has been slashed down from $19.5 million to $17.5 million. Though Rosie O’Donnell originally purchased the 11, 104 sq. ft. mansion in 1999 for a cool $6.75 million, the drastic appraisal comes as a result of renovations done over the years by the TV star. The exquisite waterfront property, first built in 1923, features two separate guesthouses, 12 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The décor has been kept quite minimalistic with mostly white walls, pale marble floors and fine rugs in subtle hues of pinks, purples and blues. However, a fish tank built into the dining room wall and a cobbled pathway are the two things that probably stand out most about this Star Island property, besides it opening up to 203 gorgeous feet of water frontage.
