That’s right; an exorbitant $55 million price tag comes attached to this 47th floor penthouse located at the Mansions at Acqualina above Sunny Isle Beach. And while the two-story Palazzo D’Oro (Palace of Gold) sports a widely unattainable investment, its grandiose floor plan is sure to exceed even the most snobbish amenity junkie. At two floors and 15,500 square feet, this six bedroom, nine bathroom penthouse features a private sky garden with a living wall, a 25-foot water fall, leather walls, maple paneling, full-service bar, indoor/outdoor screening room, a glass wine gallery, an overhanging glass-bottomed pool, a glass elevator, and a second reflecting pool with a private spa and hydrotherapy area partially based in the living room, and more.
In addition to the extravagant indoor square footage, the home also has another 5,000 square feet of terrace space with ocean and city views, a dining terrace, and a specialty “theater terrace.” And if the household amenities aren’t enough, community features include a billiard room, cabana, club house, heated pool, kitchen facilities, and a sauna. Throw in a two-car garage and one can begin to see what $3,548 per square foot can afford.
It should come as no shock that the Palazzo D’Oro is the second most expensive listing in Miami ever; placed only after the Versace house which lists for a mind-boggling $100 million. Of course, the late Versace’s Casa Casuarina throws in 10 individually themed bedrooms, a six-person shower, and a host of expensive legal baggage. So, do the amenities and spacious luxury justify the towering cost or is this just an excuse for the uber-rich to throw away their money? Sound off in the comments section.
