I know Halloween’s around the corner and it’s a given it will be the highlight of everyone’s social calendar. Miami’s Fall calendar is full of exciting events and here’s the low-down on how you can enjoy the run up to Halloween 2016:
1. Petite Artist: Hooray for Halloween! - Oct. 16, 10 AM
We’re getting into the Halloween spirit early with a spooktacular event benefitting the Miami Children’s Health Foundation. Get your “Petite Artist” over to Genius Jones in Edgewater for a local holiday art project. There’ll be arts and crafts, raffles, refreshments, a photobooth, gift bags and more for an exciting, family-friendly weekend. Sponsor HB Roswell Realty (that’s us) will bring the supplies. Along with 6 other amazing local vendors, so all you have to bring along is your tiny tot and an open heart. Reserve your spot on eventbrite.
2. Deering Estate’s Wine on Harvest Moon – Oct. 15, 7:30 PM
Celebrate the Harvest Moon with fine wine, food and art served under the golden lunar rays. In its 15th year, this annual event will be held on the lush 444-acre Deering Estate on the edge of Biscayne Bay. This year’s theme promises a “culinary safari through South Africa”. Expect crisp South African wines, local chefs whipping up their best, a high-end auction benefitting the estate as well as musical and theatrical vignettes served up against the magical setting of an environmental preserve. Tickets start $175 per person.
3. Chapman Partnership Illuminations Gala – Oct. 15, 7 PM
For a more formal event honoring those making a difference in the life of the homeless, the Illuminations Gala comes to JW Marriott Marquis. There’ll be dining, dancing and live entertainment as gratitude for the tireless work put in by volunteers and donors. Tickets cost $600.
4. South Beach Seafood Festival – Oct. 20-22, 12 PM
Kick-off annual Stone Crab season with a trip down to the South Beach Seafood Festival at Lummus Park. This deliciously luxurious dining experience on the beach features finger-licking seafood with more than 60 menu items reeling you in for seconds. Find an excess of stone crab, with shrimp tacos, lobster tempura skewers, mahi sliders, oysters, gyros and much more at this SoBe seafood fest. Along with top chefs and restaurants will be live music, mixology demos, a health village, kids zone and sports bar for endless fun. Regular tickets are $35, but you’ll need to shell out $150 for a VIP experience.
5. Kitetober Fest at Haulover Park – Oct. 23, 12 PM
Look to the skies at Haulover Park for a colorful display of creativity and wonder. Expect the likes of a 30-foot Nemo fish, 100-foot squid, 150-foot rainbow and more flying overhead at this annual fest. Bring your own or buy a ready-made kite, compete with kids/adults your own age or sit back to enjoy the view - it’s a free for all at this vibrant festival. Live music, food and refreshments make it a great way to enjoy a lazy fall Sunday.
6. City Bikes Ironman 70.3 Miami – Oct. 23, 7:25 AM
