The over $1 billion Brickell City Centre is on fire these days, especially with 90% of their retail space pretty much booked.
Swire Properties’ Brickell City Centre is projected to open in a year in the Brickell Avenue financial district of Miami. The development will house 5.4 million square-feet of hotel, residential, office, and entertainment space for tenants to occupy.
Of the 500,000 square-feet of space dedicated to retail, 450,000 of it is already in advanced talks, according to Debora Overholt, a retail executive of Swire Properties.
Swire announced previously that a branch of Saks Fifth Avenue will open with a store that takes over 180,000 square-feet of the space. In addition, Cinemex will be opening a movie theatre on location.
Overholt mentioned that the first floor will house most of the luxury retailers, since the price of rent will be the highest there. The second floor will theoretically house middle-market retailers, and the third floor will house restaurants.
