Swire Hotels plans to unveil their upcoming East Miami hotel at the Brickell City Centre in the fall of 2015.
Swire released their first look of the new billion dollar mixed-use hotel and development, and proclaimed its 41 stories, 263 rooms, two restaurants, poolside bar and lounge, rooftop bar, fitness center, banquet hall, and 89 serviced apartments, known as the East Residences.
East Miami hotel will be Swire Hotels' first property in the U.S., but also their third hotel under the East brand name. The other two locations are in Hong Kong and Beijing.
Swire has hired Miami-based Arquitectonica, designers of the Hyde Hotel in Midtown Miami, to design the East Miami hotel.
More than 10 upscale brands competed for the name, but Swire's East brand won. The attraction of the mixed-use property, doubled with Miami's residential market, caused the popularity of the East brand to reign victorious.
“Miami has sort of made the switch from a resort market to a global gateway city ,” said Andrew Cohan, VP of hospitality consulting firm HVS, “and [it has] given the expansion of the businesses and industry and Latin trade that we have seen and investor interest in owning property in Miami, it certainly puts us at another scale,”
The first phase of Miami's the Brickell City Centre is being created as we speak. It will include a luxury shopping center, two residential towers, a wellness center, and much Class-A office space. This phase is projected to finish in 2015.
No room photos have been released yet, but many suspect that it will look similar to the rooms in the East Hotel in Hong Kong.
