David Beckham, the soccer star looking for a site to build a Major League Soccer stadium in Miami, could potentially build on the former site of the Orange Bowl.
A resolution that is awaiting the Miami-Dade County’s approval could allow Beckham to build his stadium in the old Orange Bowl site.
Beckham released a statement which said, “Miami Beckham United appreciates the support put forth by Commissioner Barreiro and his fellow commissioners. David [Beckham], Marcelo [Claure] and Simon [Fuller] are committed to bringing a Major League Soccer club to Miami-Dade County, and we’re still working toward that goal.”
The statement goes on to note that there are many other options on the table, but they mainly plan to use a site that meets the needs of fans, club members, and the league as a whole.
