Developer Bruce Eichner Announces Plans to Build New Continuum Condo

Bruce Eichner, whose Continuum Company in New York delivered the Continuum condo towers located at 50 and 100 South Pointe Drive in South Beach, has announced plans to construct a second Continuum project in Miami. Eichner made the announcement earlier this month, noting that he’s got his eye on possible sites in Downtown Miami, the Design District, and Wynwood for the new project destined for the Miami mainland.
Eichner has also declared his plans to work with a “starchitect” new to Miami on the building design, noting that the “same half dozen architects” have designed most new constructions in Miami, and that he’s looking to build something new and different. The plan is to offer units priced below $1,000 per square foot, and as he did with his South Beach project, Eichner will set aside one unit for himself.
“I’ve looked at several different pieces of property,” Eichner stated, describing his intention for the new project. “Part of what made the Continuum on South Beach was the grounds. I don’t expect to find another 9-acre site in downtown Miami. But I think there’s an opportunity to do something with green that has not been done there,” he told The Real Deal.
Meanwhile, Eichner has also put his personal penthouse at the Continuum South Beach up for sale, and slashing the price of the seven-bedroom, 11,000 square foot to $39.9 million, a bargain at 20% below his original asking price of $50 million in 2015. The unit includes a waterfront terrace with a private pool, a media and entertainment room, an expansive open kitchen, a cabana, a guest unit on a separate floor, and 10 parking spaces.
Eichner’s Continuum Company delivered the two-tower Continuum South Beach project in 2003. In addition to the unit’s unique features, the condo features two pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a slew of luxury amenities all with private beach in Miami Beach’s exclusive South of Fifth neighborhood (SOFI). It stands to reason that the new project will match, and perhaps even outdo, the level of quality and luxury that Continuum has come to be known for.
