Eskandar Ghermezian, an Iranian-Canadian developer, plans to build his own American Dream. And surprise: he's calling it American Dream Miami.
Triple Five Worldwide Group, Ghermezian’s family owned company, is purchasing and developing 200 acres of cow pastures near I-75 and Florida’s Turnpike in Northwestern Miami-Dade County.
Representatives of Triple Five say American Dream Miami, once finished, will be the single largest shopping mall and entertainment complex in the United States. The project would cost around $4 billion and envelop 6.2 million square-feet of space.
So far, they've revealed a lot about the specifics. Some of the amenities include a 16-story indoor ski slope, 20-slide water park, a submarine ride in a custom designed saltwater lake, a climate-controlled theme park, a 14 screen 3D Movie Theater, a performing arts center, a 2,000 room hotel, and so much more.
American Dream Miami also plans to build a 3.5 million square-foot mall. Aventura, Florida’s largest mall and the United States’ third largest mall, has 2.7 million square-feet of space in comparison.
