Discouraged Yankees Slugger Accepts Renter for North Bay Road Digs (PHOTOS)

Unable to sell his mega-mansion overlooking Biscayne Bay for the listed price of $38 million, injured New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez decided to take his 20,000-square-foot domicile off the market for a $125,000 per month rental agreement. Replete with upscale amenities such a full-service gym, sauna, an outdoor pool, and an independent electrical generator, the palatial estate is also watched by a (paranoid?) army of 16 security cameras. Apparently, the baseball great just wants to “give the home a rest.”
But considering the substantial profit Rodriguez had hoped to turn by selling (he originally purchased the house for $24 million in May 2010), it would appear he, at least initially, wanted more than a simple break from the place. Especially considering that there is no hard evidence that he ever lived in house since its purchase. Regardless of the reasoning behind the move, the mansion offers significant luxuries for its hefty rental price
The two-story house is newly constructed with coral-colored rock walls, white oak floors, and 12-foot glass windows facing 275 feet of water frontage and the Miami skyline. The property includes nine bedrooms, 11 baths, a home mega-theater, a rooftop deck, an elevator, and a 3,000 square-foot sports room fitted with a full-scale batting cage.
What do you think? Is A-Rod deluded in his attempt to score over $30 million in profits? And how sensible is it to rent a house for over $125,000 per month? Sound off in the comments.
