Facebook vs. Twitter: Which Is the Best for Real Estate? Industry Professionals Explain

As the real estate market is gradually conforming to the standards of social media, many professionals ask, “which is better: Facebook or Twitter?”
A recent study shows that, out of the almost 100 business surveyed, Facebook receives a better response as a marketing tool than its Twitter counterpart.
Data taken by the Master Brokers Forum of South Florida showed that 58% of their members use Facebook for business, 47% have a Twitter account, 28% use their Twitter account for business, and 49% of businesses have said that social media is at least somewhat useful in their marketing and sales portfolio.
“Facebook is relatively easy to use, and it is populated with more people who are in the market for homes. It is also an inherently visual platform, which allows Realtors to easily add multiple images and to describe a home with as much detail as they want,” Jeff Morr, chairman of the Miami Master Brokers Forum said, “Twitter is less easy to use, it doesn’t lend itself to images nearly as well, and its user base is much younger. And of course, there’s the character limitation issue — it’s very hard to describe a nice kitchen in 140 characters, to say nothing of an entire residence.”
