Feb 11, 2015 February 11, 2015
Five design teams have reached the final round for the final designs of the Underline, a scenic 10-mile bike path and park located south of downtown Miami underneath the Metrorail tracks.
The finalists are James Corner Field Operations from New York, Dlandstudio from New York, Balmori Associates from New York, Perkins & Will from Atlanta, and Stoss from Boston.
The design submissions included plans for developing the Metrorail’s Brickell and University stations as well.
Friends of the Underline is the activist group that is supporting the redevelopment of the M-Path into a linear park with this campaign. The final design presentations happened February 2, and we will see the results later on.
Three cities, the Knight Foundation, the Miami Foundation and many other donors are giving $500,000 in funding for the contract of the design.
