Island Gardens Deep Harbour Marina Finally Opens After 14 Years of Plans, Phase Two to Come

After almost 14 years of planning, receiving rights to build, and actually building, the superyacht marina at Island Gardens, known as Deep Harbour Marina, is finally open.
As many as 50 yachts up to 550 feet in length can fit at the slips in Island Gardens. The size of the allowed yachts has made many call this marnia, “the only superyacht marnia in North America.”
The marina was only phase one of the $1 billion project being developed by Flagstone Property Group. The rest of the project, including two hotels, a residential tower, and a mall, will begin their construction later on in the fourth quarter of 2016. Flagstone aims for 221,000 square-feet of retail, restaurant, and hotel space.
“The plan is to start the foundations for the new buildings this fall,” Mehmet Bayraktar, CEO of Flagstone said, “Completion is scheduled for 2018.”
Deep Harbour Marina will host the second location for the annual Yachts Miami Beach boat show from February 11 to 15, which will feature 30 to 35 superyachts.
