Describir South Beach, Mid Beach y North Beach de Miami es como describir Downtown, Midtown y Uptown de Manhattan. Cada zona tiene características especiales que la diferencian de las otras partes de la ciudad. Si bien tienen algunas similitudes, cada uno de los principales distritos de Miami Beach es único en sí mismo. A continuación, te daremos una guía de las tres principales zonas geográficas de Miami Beach.



— South Beach

South Beach incluye los barrios de South-of-Fifth (SOFI), West Avenue, Lincoln Road, Sunset Harbour, Belle Isle, Collins Park, las Islas Venecianas y el distrito Art Déco.

South Beach es uno de los lugares más turísticos de Miami. Sus calles están repletas de vida, con varias tiendas y restaurantes. Cuenta con la combinación perfecta de calles residenciales, comercios y peatonales concurridas que hace que pasear por South Beach sea fantástico.

En South Beach, el océano se encuentra al este y rodea a la ciudad a lo largo de la amplia extensión de Ocean Drive. Claro que aquí el tráfico es de lo peor, pero South Beach es para caminar, no para conducir. — Mid Beach

Mid Beach incluye los barrios Collins Waterfront, el distrito histórico de Morris Lapidus (a veces llamado Condo Canyon), Allison Island y las zonas residenciales unifamiliares del oeste.

Mid Beach es una estrecha franja de urbanismo que está dividida de la amplia franja de barrios residenciales unifamiliares por el canal de Indian Creek. Al sur del Hotel Fontainebleau, ícono del lugar, las calles son transitables y urbanas, aunque no son tan concurridas como las de South Beach. Sin embargo, el barrio está volviéndose más animado y, recientemente, han aparecido grandes zonas de desarrollos de lujo, como el Faena District y el Hotel Edition. North Beach es el lugar menos turístico de Miami. Por lo general, Miami Beach se vuelve más económico a medida que se avanza hacia el norte. De todas formas, North Beach cuenta con una gran variedad de precios y tipos de residencias, desde pequeñas casas unifamiliares y apartamentos de alquiler accesibles hasta grandes mansiones y condominios extremadamente caros. En ese sentido se parece mucho a South Beach. Sin embargo, North Beach es la única parte de Miami Beach en la que puedes comprar una casa unifamiliar que esté frente al océano, en el refinado barrio de Altos Del Mar.

En general, las calles son agradables y cada vez se están volviendo más pintorescas, con cafés y tiendas en las aceras (aunque en algunas zonas los autos circulan muy rápido y resultan molestos para los peatones).
