MAJOR Residences: Brickell Supertall to Have Gold Pool, “Major” Dining Concepts
Jun 11, 2022 June 11, 2022
From ruling the restaurant scene to conquering Miami’s residential landscape, launching a supertall condo project is a “MAJOR” leap for Major Food Group - New York’s famous hospitality company behind some of America’s most celebrated restaurants.
Major Food Group or MFG, the company behind well-known names in the culinary world such as Carbone, Dirty French, The Flamingo Grill, ZZ’s Club and more, has joined forces with JDS Development to bring the world its first-ever residential venture. Aiming high, the co-developers are already approved to build the 1,049-foot supertall at 888 Brickell Avenue – competing with the 100-story Waldorf Astoria (built to the same height) for the title of the “tallest-ever in Miami”.
MFG’s MAJOR Residential Ambitions
Major will rise 82 stories with 259 luxury condos. Designed by Studio Sofield in collaboration with ODP, the supertall will feature Gatsby-style energy and exuberance, with a distinctly New York city facade.
Starting at the porte cochere, the supertall will feature gold leaf trimmings and monolithic slabs of travertine. The crown of the tower will come adorned by a filigree of gold spheres, punctuated by extraordinary sculptures that evoke Italian Futurism. The statement tower will also feature an ivory travertine façade plus high-gloss steel columns to cement its grandeur.
With prices ranging from $1.6 million to $11 million, buyers will have a choice of one- to four-bedroom hybrid condo-hotel units. Each residence will feature custom furniture by Studio Sofield. The skyscraper will also feature a special “lockout” function for its condos, allowing easy conversion from residence to suite or guest room – an elegant solution for flexible living spaces.
Amenities at THE MAJOR: Epicurean Delights at its Epicenter
When the Major Food Group announces a residential concept – you know it’s going to go big on food and beverage. Unlike any other residence in Miami, MAJOR residents can look forward to restaurant space on at least four or five floors, with developers claiming to offer “the most impressive collection of food and beverage amenities of any building in Miami, if not the United States.” The restaurant spaces are expected to be designed by Ken Fulk.
The supertall will also be home to Miami’s first-ever silver and gold pool looking to emulate the “sexy” vibe of the city. Fitness enthusiasts will find their match in the three floors dedicated to sports and wellness – inclusive of a spa with a mineral pool and champagne pool, a boxing area, a paddle court, an F1 simulator, and a golf simulator.
Other amenities at Major will include wine storage, a cigar room, event spaces, plus 250 parking spots.
MAJOR’s Larger-than-Life Brickell Location
It’s no secret that Brickell is Miami’s answer to New York’s Manhattan. The bustling urban core seems to be the perfect pick for the lifestyle offered by MAJOR Residences. Perched at 888 Brickell Avenue, condo residents will find themselves at the epicenter of the business district – walking distance from the Brickell City Center and major modes of public transit.
By car, Downtown’s FTX Arena will be 15 minutes, the Arts & Entertainment District will be 20 minutes, South Beach’s Lincoln Road will be 25 minutes, and the Miami International Airport will be 25 minutes as well.
