- Easter Family Picnic at Pride Park, Apr. 8. Longines Global Champions Tour 2023: April 12-15

National Poetry Month Specials: April 2, 5 & 28

- Poetry in Pajamas at the Miami Beach Garden, Apr 2. This open mic, pajama party is for kids of all ages. Little ones get to recite their favorite poems, original or published, followed by lawn games, live music, and delicious bites by the likes of Simply Good Pizza and Crepe Maker.
- Words of Freedom at the Adrienne Arsht Center, Apr 5. This 90-minute tribute to National Poetry Month will highlight the voices and pens that helped nudge the movement for Black diasporic freedom. The discussion will feature local poets, writers, and educators as they talk about what freedom means to them.
- Poetry Workshop at the Deering Estate, Apr 28. This guided writing session will include “Deering ghost stories,” “tales from the wine cellar,” theme-specific sample poetry, and ekphrastic poetry writing tips to help participants develop works inspired by the “spirits” of the estate.

Teens as Teachers + Yayoi Kusama’s Love Is Calling: April 7 & 8
Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), 1103 Biscayne Blvd, Downtown Miami

On the 7th, teens from Pérez Art Museum Miami and the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami will get together to help you gain insights into how young people nurture their creativity. The PAMM x MOCA Teen Summit will include a guided tour, an intergenerational art-making workshop, and panel discussions with teen ambassadors. This afternoon event is open to middle and high school teens plus educators.
On the 8th, Yayoi Kusama’s largest and most immersive infinity mirror rooms exhibit, Love Is Calling will throw open its door for guests of all ages. Part of PAMM’s Free Second Saturdays program, you’ll begin the day with a unique art-making activity inspired by the artist’s signature polka dots, followed by a traditional Japanese Taiko drumming performance by Fushu Daiko, plus a meet-and-greet with local Japanese artist Harumi Abe.
April Art Projects for All: April 20

Hosted by The Bass’ Teen Board, this creative evening will feature art projects and practices designed by teens for guests of all ages. Join this open studio session for a night of fun trying your hand at henna tattoos, macramé, or even creating block prints, with the Teen Board for guidance.

Head over to the Garden’s Butterfly Gallery this April to attend internationally-renowned artist, Isla Moon’s oil painting exhibition. This opening reception will feature cocktails plus a meet-and-greet with the artist. The celebrated poet, artist, and curator is known for her original works, inspired by the individual experiences of human awareness that converge ancient storytelling with preset day self-realization. The exhibit will stay on display till May 8.
