Miami Spice is Here Early! Will Run Twice as Long this Year

Miami Spice Restaurant Months is here early! The Miami tradition that showcases the very best of Miami’s diverse local cuisine and the talent and creativity of our city’s array of world-class chefs for discounted pricing (restaurant-goers can enjoy three-course meals at some of Miami’s most exclusive restaurants for only $25 for lunch or brunch, and $39 each for dinner) is also extended.
Given the financial hit taken by local restaurants as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, this year Miami Spice is starting two months early in hopes of luring us back into Miami’s finest eateries, running the program for four months instead of the usual two beginning in late summer.
If you live in Miami or frequently visit, you’ll know that Miami Spice normally starts at the beginning of August and continues until the end of September. The event was founded by the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) as a way to give local restaurants a boost during the slow summer months. Now, it’s hoped that by starting Miami Spice early, we can all help local restaurateurs recover from recent losses from the pandemic.
As incentives, the registration fee for restaurants to participate has been waived. And restaurants can still sign up to participate. So far, about 93 of the 220 Miami restaurants that participated last year are offering special Miami Spice menus. To see if your favorite restaurant is participating, you can search here.
The decision to start Miami Spice early also is part of the “Miami Shines” program, which is offering getaway deals including hotels starting at $89 per night as well as museum and attraction offers. So if you feel like venturing out, try Tanuki in South Beach, Tap 42 Kitchen and Bar in Midtown Miami, or doma Restaurant in Wywood, or any of the other amazing Miami restaurants you can try.
