Construction for the Miami Worldcenter is set to begin in the third quarter of 2015, after the Planning Department approved the designs recently.
The approval that the Planning Department gave allows for the development team to apply for building permits. The Mall at the Worldcenter, PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter, and a luxury apartment building at the megaproject should be some of the first to be built.
The Forbes Company and Taubman are assisting with the 765,000 square-foot mall, which will have a Bloomingdale’s and a Macy’s anchored, as well as many entertainment and dining options.
The Miami Worldcenter is a megaproject that is a collaboration between Miami Worldcenter Associates and several development firms that will work together to create the plan conceived by Elkus Manfredi Architects.
“We have assembled a world-class team with a track record of delivering transformational projects, and now we’re taking the last step toward starting construction of Miami Worldcenter,” said Nitin Motwani, Managing Principal for Miami Worldcenter Associates, “Miami Worldcenter will transform 27 acres in the heart of Miami into a city within a city, connecting the central business district with the arts and entertainment district.”
