Michelin Guide Adds 6 New Miami Restaurants in 2025

Feb 20, 2025 February 20, 2025
Six new Miami restaurants, with diverse menus and locations, have been added to the Michelin Guide's Recommended list. The prestigious French culinary guide adds new restaurants to this list throughout the year, before announcing the winners of its coveted Michelin stars, which are considered the global standard for culinary excellence.
These new additions are highlighted in the Florida Michelin Guide for 2025 as "New" selections that will compete for Michelin Stars and awards such as the Bib Gourmand status for value, and/or Green Stars for sustainability.
While inclusion in the Recommended list doesn’t necessarily guarantee that any of these restaurants will actually earn a Michelin star, there is no lack of honor in having made it to this highly esteemed list. In fact many Miami restaurants have made the leap from the Recommended list to actually earning the highly coveted Michelin stars!
We’ve tried these new Miami restaurants, which celebrate a gamut of dining experiences, ranging from casual spots to exclusive, upscale restaurants, and here are our reviews.
— New Michelin Restaurants in Miami for 2025
Itamae Ao
3225 NE 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33137
This intimate ten-seat Nikkei counter in Midtown led by Chef Nando Chang serves exquisite Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine and provides a unique omakase experience featuring whole fish flown in from Japan and other sublime Nikkei specialties.
Private dining experiences available and reservations required.
Cotoa
100 Biscayne Blvd Suite 104, Miami, FL 33132
This delightfully authentic Ecuadorian kitchen at New World Tower in Downtown Miami serves traditional fare from Ecuador featuring delicacies such as Palo Santo smoked butter and unique ingredients sourced directly from the Ecuadorian Andes.
Led by Chef Alejandra Espinoza, who earned her fame at Somos restaurant in Quito, Ecuador, Cotoa brings Ecuador to Miami with the warm inviting atmosphere of Latin America.
Grand Central by Nuno Grullon
7919 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33138
Located on the Biscayne Corridor, this casual American restaurant is headed by Chef Nuno Grullon, a transplanted New Yorker whose fame in Miami was won at locations such as Uptown 66.
Grand Central serves flawlessly upscale comfort food and executed classics like Wagyu beef tartare, duck pithiver, and truffle chicken pot pie in an elegant, relaxed setting.
Palma
240 NW 8th Ave, Miami, FL 33128
Guided by the leadership and vision of Michelin star Chef Juan Camilo Liscano, Palma is located in Little Havana near the Miami River.
Palma offers Latin fusion cuisine celebrating Liscano’s Hispanic heritage and Miami roots, combining locally-sourced ingredients with Latin flavors and all of the influences he has accumulated as a Michelin star chef working in top restaurants around the world.
Sereia
3540 Main Hwy, Miami, FL 33133
This Portuguese seafood restaurant in Coconut Grove is headed by veteran Michelin star chef Henrique Sá Pessoa and features a delightfully romantic dining patio that we love.
Specializing in seafood dishes inspired in the cuisine of the Iberian coast, Sereia serves classics inspired in traditional Portuguese and Mediterranean offerings. Michelin reviewers especially loved their famed salt cod with crispy potatoes and the sweet rice custard with rice foam and calamansi sorbet.
Torno Subito
200 East Flagler St, Miami, FL 33131
This edgy Italian restaurant concept by Massimo Bottura is strategically set atop a Downtown Miami rooftop with divine Miami skyline views all around and a whimsically modern Italian menu as well as a delightful tasting menu for the curious.
We agree with Michelin reviewers who praised the chef’s special Tortellini, and the Risotto made with saffron, langoustine, and orange at this spot where the décor is playful but the cuisine is seriously Italian.

— One Last Bite
Curious how your favorite restaurant could become a Michelin notable? Well, Michelin stars are a big deal in the food world, and to get one, restaurants have to be amazing in five ways: top-notch ingredients, awesome flavors and cooking skills, a chef with personality, good value for the money, and keeping things consistently delicious every time.
It fills us with pride to know that many of our Miami eateries are now meeting these standards of excellence. We hope you’ll try some of the best Michelin star restaurants and we can’t wait to start trying the ones on this year’s list!
