One Brickell City Centre Will Begin Construction at the End of 2017

One Brickell City Centre could be the tallest tower in Miami. Construction on the project, however, is not even close to a start date.
Its developers are Swire Properties and they've said the next phase of the project will not start construction in early 2016 as previously planned. 2017 is a more realistic start date, some say.
Instead, they're focusing on finishing what they've already started. Law firm Akerman will be using the office space, moving into the completed portions of the project at the end of 2015. Residential units are also closing by the end of the year.
The EAST hotel is expected to open at the end of 2015 or beginning of 2016. Only the retail component of EAST will be postponed and will open fully in September 2016.
Back in June, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved the 1,040 feet above ground plan, making it one of the largest FAA approved towers in the United States. The approval will last 18 months, but an extension can be filed if the developers choose to wait that long.
