One of a Kind Madrid Popup Food Market Open Until January

Every now and again, bars and restaurants will open a conceptual test kitchen, such as a food truck or catering operation, but one recently showed up that is unique from every other such venture that's preceded it.
A historic food market modeled after those in Madrid is coming to Bayfront Park at 301 Biscayne Boulevard. It will be open from September 26th until the end of January when it will transfer to another city, which is yet to be announced.
Called La Feria del Mercado de San Miguel, the market is an offshoot of Madrid’s 100 year old Mercado de San Miguel. Carlos Giménez, the mayor of Miami-Dade, alongside Tomás Regalado, mayor of Miami, will lead an exclusive ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 25th before the market is open to visitors.
The market measures 9,000 square-feet of open-air space, where visitors will find food and drink kiosks, as well as other merchants selling a wide variety of Spanish delicacies. Products include acorn-fed Jamon Serrano, gin and tonics, squid-ink paella, montaditos, gazpacho, fruits, meats, fish and so much more.
“Miami was the obvious choice for our first pop-up destination,” said Montserrat Valle, owner of Mercado de San Miguel, “as no city in America has embraced the Spanish-American crossculture quite like this one.”
Admssion into the market is free, but each food kiosk sets its own prices, starting from $2 for a small side dish and more for larger entrées. Hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
