Second Saturday Is The Top Saturday

If you’re a culture vulture, you reserve the second Saturday of every month for a tryst in Wynwood. Your rendezvous with art happens north of Downtown, between 20th and 36th streets on NW 2nd Ave and NE 2nd Ave. You’ll know you’re there because it’s the biggest block party in the city.
Wynwood, Miami’s arts district, is lined with over 60 art galleries, an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and cafés. The neighborhood blew up globally for its reputation of fascinating graffiti art murals. Every second Saturday, between 6PM and 10PM, shops and galleries open their doors for the public to wander through a wondrous art maze with a unique, festive backdrop.
But where to start? It’s a no-brainer. Book one of the many art tours online. Lasting an hour and two, Wynwood Art Walk tours make a great start for newbies and connoisseurs.
The Guided Gallery Tour lasts about an hour and takes you through some of the best galleries in the neighborhood at a modest $20 per person fee. The Underground Tour, may sound shady, but actually highlights some of the best and most provocative art-spaces in the vicinity in about an hour and is also $20 per person.
And, if you’d like to begin your tour on a more refined and relaxing note, then the $25 “+Drink” tours are just the thing for you. Tour +Wine takes you around the best galleries, street art and must-see shows with a glass of wine. Graffiti Tour +Drink brings you to the heart and soul of Wynwood - its murals and street art. You also visit galleries that exhibit street art related shows.
Now, no block party can be complete without appropriate food and drink. And that’s exactly what you’ll find on the corner of NW 23 St. and NW 2nd Ave. Get some great gourmet Food Truck fare that’ll have you coming back for more. And if you’re aching for some music, then follow your ears to the Wynwood Walls for a complete Saturday-Night-treat for the senses.
