The Perigon: Meet Miami Beach’s Stunning, New Beachfront Condo by Rem Koolhaas’s OMA
Apr 18, 2022 April 18, 2022
Finally, there is a buzz on Miami Beach about what will soon be the coveted neighborhood’s newest luxury beachfront project in years — and surely an architectural darling — The Perigon. Developer Mast Capital has partnered with Starwood Capital Group to bring Mid-Beach its only new construction project on the sand (for the moment). The Perigon is poised to be a stunning addition to Miami Beach’s shoreline with its uniquely “rotated” design. The 17-story, 83-unit tower will also be the first condo project in Miami Beach for OMA Group, led by the Pritzker Prize-winning Rem Koolhaas.
Launched in March this year, The Perigon stands out for its stunning aesthetic, dual waterfront exposures, and boutique appeal. After Faena House’s headline-grabbing debut in 2016, this is the first ultra-luxury project to come up directly on the beach in Miami Beach. With a choice of two- to four-bedroom residences, ranging from 2,100 to 6,700 square feet in size, prices at this oceanfront tower start at $3 million.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
The Perigon: OMA-designed to Turn Oceanfront Luxury On Its Axis
Masterfully designed by the world-renowned Rem Koolhaas’ London-based firm, The Perigon will sit overlooking 200 linear feet of pristine beachfront. The Pritzker Prize-winning architect is best known for his dramatic, gravity-defying structures.
Like a breath of fresh air, The Perigon also will feel light on its feet, given its elevated design and light-filled interiors. The lifted building will appear to be lightly touching the ground from a distance and feature ample space below to house lush gardens by Gustafson Porter + Bowman – the team redesigning the 2-kilometer axis leading up to the Eiffel Tower.
Emulating a series of interlocked towers, the ultra-luxury tower will also be carefully angled to maximize water views at every turn. Its terraced design will help maximize east and west water views from all residences. Appealing to potential buyers, all residences will be privy to direct water views, best enjoyed from their 10- to 12-foot-deep wraparound terraces, a unique feature even by luxury condo standards.
London-based Tara Bernerd – known for her alluring luxury yacht designs – will be handling interiors at this oceanfront tower. Each ultra-luxury residence will feature custom Italian kitchens by Tara Bernerd & Partners, linear cove lighting in living and dining areas, primary bathrooms with natural stone flooring and custom bathtubs, plus a choice of stone, wood, or finished porcelain floorings.
Built to the sustainability standards of a LEED Gold certification, the environmentally conscious will especially take pride in their new homes at The Perigon. Owners will further have access to 10 guest suites to welcome friends and family at leisure.
The Perigon’s Ultra-Exclusive Resort Amenities
Bringing a new wave of oceanfront ultra-luxury to Miami Beach, The Perigon will feature a wide array of tailored and personalized resort-style amenities. Residents will have access to a stylish speakeasy bar and cocktail lounge, a signature residents-only oceanfront restaurant helmed by a celebrated chef, plus a sprawling conservatory with a daily breakfast bar.
Besides affording direct access to the beach, The Perigon will feature a beachside pool with outdoor spa and cabanas, pool and beachside food and beverage service, lounge chairs and umbrellas on the private beach, plus secluded gardens and meditation areas overlooking the ocean.
Residents will also have access to a private spa, an ocean-view fitness center, a sunrise lounge for hosting events, a bespoke wine room, a private salon, children’s playroom, residential butler and home management services, in-room dining catered by the on-site restaurant, a house car, and much more.
The Perigon’s Picture-Perfect Mid-Beach Location
Taking design inspiration from its location, The Perigon will sit on a surreal stretch of white sand beachfront on Millionaire’s Row. Just north of iconic South Beach, residents will find themselves tucked on the less touristy shores of Mid-Beach. Living at The Perigon, residents will be a short drive from the La Gorce Country Club, Normandy Shores Golf Club, Miami Beach Golf Club, the legendary Fontainebleau Hotel, plus the neighborhood-defining Faena District with its world-class bazaar, theater, yoga and healing services and hotel.
By car, shopping at Lincoln Road will be 20 minutes, the upscale Bal Harbour Shops will be 20 minutes, art at Wynwood will be 25 minutes, business and entertainment in Downtown will be 35 minutes, and the Miami International airport will be about 40 minutes away.
