Construction at Brickell City Centre is now well under way with nine massive cranes on site to bring plans for the building to fruition. A section of the lower level mall, situated along 8th street, is already reaching upwards of six stories. Along the north side, foundations are being dug while a bayfront lot on the east side is currently serving as a staging area for the entire project. With development of the project progressing at a rapid clip, you may be wondering what you can expect once the new project is complete.

What Will be Amazing About Brickell City Centre
The new Brickell City Centre will feature a range of exciting additions, including what will be the tallest tower in Miami. Designed by Arquitectonica, the proposed tower will feature retail shops and grand plazas, as well as office space, condos, and a hotel topped off by a signature lounge and restaurant.
At 80 stories, the tower will easily exceed the current tallest building in the city, the Four Seasons Hotel, which stretches to a height of 64 stories. In addition, it may well become one of the tallest towers in the state. According to the president of Swire Properties, the ultimate goal in developing the tower will be to create an artful blend of uses while advancing Brickell Avenue as a premier destination in Miami. Swire Properties, Inc., a Hong Kong-based company, paid more than $64 million for the site located at 700 Brickell in July.
Yet another innovative addition to the new facility will be the Air Tube, a climate ribbon that is being constructed to the tune of $20 million and will provide a blast of cool air to cool shoppers as they browse the multitude of shops. The technologically advanced design will feature an approximately 150,000 square foot-trellis spread out over the massive outdoor mall.
What Brickell City Centre Will Bring to the Brickell Area
While the prestigious Brickell district has certainly seemed to boast everything imaginable, the one thing it has lacked in the past is a true center. With the development of the new Brickell City Centre, the district will be completely transformed. The new mixed-use facility, encompassing nearly 5.5 million square feet, will bring a revolutionary underground parking solution to the area combined with a range of innovative green building features. Pedestrian bridges and walkways will connect the four parcels of land that comprise the mixed-use development project. High-end retail stores along with a hotel and restaurants will soon call the area home. Once complete, residents will no longer need to make the commute to Aventura Mall or Dadeland to take advantage of shopping opportunities.
