Brickell City Centre Finishes and Tops Off First Hotel

by Sep Niakan | January 15, 2015

Brickell City Centre is moving along nicely as EAST, the first tower of the project, has finally been topped off.

The first tower has reached its final outside construction phase and the construction crews are removing the construction crane off the property.

EAST hotel tower is the first of many condo, hotel, and mixed-use towers to be built as part of the megaproject, Brickell City Centre. The tower itself will have 263 units for hotel use, 89 units for residential use, a 20,000 square-foot pool deck, and 24,000 square-feet of open space for events.

The developer, Swire Properties, is planning on opening the EAST Hotel in the end of 2015, if all goes according to plan.

Brickell City Centre is one of the first of a string of what many are calling, “megaprojects” in the Miami area. A megaproject consists of more than one tower as part of a larger group od projects. In the case of the City Centre, Swire plans on paying over $1 billion for the construction of at least five full-sized towers in Brickell.
