For connoisseurs of food and wine there’s no better event than the luxurious South Beach Food & Wine Festival, taking place on the 19th-22nd of February. This year’s Festival includes wine tasting, gourmet meals, live cooking demos, seminars by special guest speakers and a Food Network Awards Show.
2015 South Beach Food & Wine Festival will be hosted by Southern Wine & Sprits of Florida and Florida International University. To-date the Festival has fundraised more than $18 million for local schools in the area.
What makes this Festival special?
Did you know the South Beach Food & Wine Festival is regarded as America’s most prominent gourmet food festival? More than a decade old, the Festival is frequented by the likes of Bobby Flay, Martha Stewart and Guy Fieri.
The South Beach Food & Wine Festival comes around just once a year, don’t miss it.
What’s happening this year?
The Festival gets a sizzling start with an Italian Al Fresco Feast that has been planned to get the show on the road. If you are a fan of brunch, there are plenty to go around, with brunch events run by famous Food Network T.V. In the past, they have brought in the likes of Geoffrey Zakarain and Trisha Yearwood.
However, if you are pressed for time and can only make one event, make sure it’s the Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village. Here you will find aged wines and carefully brewed spirits that will ignite your taste buds and you’ll get to munch on exotic cuisines as you walk along the beach, taking in the lovely atmosphere.
Other events include:
- Burger Bash
- Wine Spectator's Best of the Best
- Tribute Dinner
- The Q Revolution
In 2014, the Festival attracted more than 60,000 guests over a four-day period and this year is set to be even larger. Tickets should be purchased in advance, as they tend to sell out a few days prior to the event. Tickets start from as little as $20 and can be purchased from the official website.
If you love wine and food, you probably already knew about the South Beach Food & Wine Festival. If you didn’t, where’ve you been hiding?
