Plans to Restore Historic Biscayne Boulevard Church Have Been Submitted

ADD Inc, an architectural firm, has created a plan to preserve the historic church, which is located at 1836 Biscayne Boulevard, while also adding a parking garage and about 350 residential units.
A proposal was scheduled to be reviewed by Miami’s Historic and Environmental Preservation Board earlier this year. The plan would allow for the church to be restored and reinforced in order to become hurricane-resistant. Additionally, the church would be converted into a grocery store.
Next to the church, the architect plans to add a 34-story residential tower. “Floating” above the church will be a parking garage with 480 parking spaces in it.
Fifteen Group, the development team, purchased the property in 2014 for $14.25 million. R.J. Heisenbottle Architects is working with ADD Inc as a historic preservation consultant.
Across the street from the church is the Atlas Capital Group’s newly proposed 429-unit residential tower, located at 1900 Biscayne.
