Barneys New York has expressed interest in adding one of their stores to the Bal Harbour Shops.
According to executive, Marc Perlowitz, of the Barneys luxury clothing retailer, they plan to add their store to the shops, just in time for an upcoming expansion.
“We asked the council [for] an expeditious take on the plan,” Perlowitz said, “That will certainly assist us in our final determination.”
The Bal Harbour Shops is currently planning on adding a 350,000 square-foot expansion to their shops.
This expansion will add at least 20 stores, specialty retail boutiques, a luxury theater, and a multipurpose community plaza.
If the expansion passes approval, it would cost approximately $300 million, and would finish construction as early as 2018.
