Edgewater's “The Vine” Tears Down Historic Neighborhood

Idea Architecture, the team behind The Crimson, is about to embark on another skyline-impacting project. The Vine, a new residential tower planned for Edgewater, has reached planning stages of development.

The project will be 32-stories tall, stretching 356-feet high. The Vine will have 124 rather large units, placing around five units on each level. In order to accommodate residents, a four-level parking garage provides 217 spaces.

Developer G&L Associates at 35th Street, LLC is clearing several plots of land between 404 Northeast 35th Street to 435 Northeast 35th Street. Many of the houses being demolished are quite old, including one that dates back to 1920.
