Historical Miami Beach Home May Be Demolished and Replaced with New Home

A historical home in Miami Beach is being demolished. However, the developers are replacing it with something quite astounding.

DOMO Architecture + Design is planning on taking the old 22 Star Island Drive clubhouse building and replacing it with a new state-of-the-art home for Stuart Miller, CEO of Lennar.

Preservationists in Miami are attempting to save the property from being demolished. The group is starting a petition, which already has 500 signatures. Preservationists have already failed once to save the 42 Star Island property from demolition.

The home that will be replacing the historic building includes a nine-space underground parking garage accessed via elevator, an exterior design of clad with Brazilian Walnut wood, and an infinity edge pool.

The Miami Beach Design Review Board will look over the proposal at their next meeting.
