Lionstone Representatives Discuss Development of PortMiami Property

Diego Lowenstein, representative from Lionstone Development, met with county officials to talk about developing the southwest portion of PortMiami into something great.

Present in the meeting were principal BEA artichect Bruno Elias-Ramos and several lawyers. These attendants are part of a new conglomerate named Destination 305, LLC, created March of this year.

Lionstone currently owns the Ritz Carlton hotels in Bal Harbor and South Beach, Epic Hotel in Miami and the Virgin Hotel in Chicago.

Miami-Dade commissioners voted a few months ago to receive bids for the development of the port, but many restrictions could prevent construction. The county owns the land, which has changed hands many times. The Downtown Development Authority of Miami opposed the development of that section of the port on the grounds that it will pull tourism away from downtown.

County administrators have three months to consider legal options and prepare a solution.
