Miami beach Crescent Heights Plan Scrapped

by Sep Niakan, August 05, 2014

Crescent Heights' new plans for the 500 and 600 block of Alton Road have been scrapped, and developers are going back to an older version of the plan.

The mayor, as well as many residents, have opposed the new 50-story design of Crescent Heights, and developers are in the process of revitalizing some of the original project plans. They plan on asking a city board to extend the approval for the original project until mid-2015, and allow them to build the project in two phases.

Russel Galbut, a principal of Crescent Heights, mentioned that their plans for the 600 block will stay the same, but they will continue with the 445 rental apartments, and 60,000 square-feet of commercial space as soon as possible.

Galbut also mentioned that there will be a “more subdued park,” and a “smaller tower,” in the 500 block of Alton Road.
