The bike sharing program in Miami Beach previously called “DecoBike” is growing into Miami in November, and will undergo a name change.
Since DecoBike has received sponsorship from CitiBank, the service will now be known as CitiBike, similarly to the service in New York City. In addition to the sponsorship, both Miami and New York will receive new three-speed bikes for the consumers’ use.
The bikes, of which there are about 750, are in 75 stations shown on the map included.
All but two of the bike stations are east of the I-95, and south of the Julia Tuttle Causeway. The two exceptions are one station west of the I-95 on Calle Ocho and the other is in the Design District. The majority of bike stations are around the Biscayne are, with many in Brickell, Wynwood, and Coconut Grove, but none in Overtown.
