Mall giant, Simon Property Group, is teaming up with developer Swire Properties on the Brickell City Centre to create a mall in their megaproject.
The over $1 billion project will include a high-end mall, office space, two residential towers, and a hotel. So far, only Saks Fifth Avenue, designer women’s apparel retailer, and Cinemex, a luxury movie theatre company, have sealed the deal to be part of the Brickell City Centre. They expect many more as time goes on.
Construction for the project is expected to finish in the end of 2015.
Swire, the original and primary partner of the City Centre, is developing the mixed-use component themselves. Whitman Family Development, the owners of the Bal Harbor Shops, will be co-developing the mall, and will now be joined by Simon.

Simon Property Group is the largest mall operator in the United States. They own and/or operate over 280 locations in the United States, and also some in Japan, South, Korea, Canada, Mexico, and Malaysia.
