New renderings of the SLS Brickell Hotel and Residences, the newest project of Paris-born starchitect Philippe Starck, show a building striped with bold colors and irregular, pointed balconies, offering a distinct Oriental flavor to the eclectic mix of progressive design styles. The glistening, glassy building will contain, once completed, 133 hotel rooms and suites plus 450 branded condo residences. The overall visual appeal of the structure lies in the sense of energy and activity oozing from its sharp contours and vibrant color spectrum.
Underneath the polished residential and luxury hotel offerings will sit 10,000 square feet of retail space including restaurants, pool bars, and lounges designed under the direction of chef Jose Andres. Among the mix of restaurants will be the sixth eatery from renowned Miami chef Michael Schwartz and other SLS concepts such as Jose Andres’ Bazaar and Katsuya by Starck. Not to mention the addition of an on-site Jazz bar. Prices are estimated to average around $500 per square foot and reservations have been available since March.
The condo and hotel development will be located at 1300 South Miami Avenue in Brickell. Pre-reserves for units are set at $30,000 for one bedrooms, $40,000 for two bedrooms, $50 for three bedrooms, and $100,000 for the as-yet-undesigned penthouses. Pricing estimates range from approximately $300,000 for one bedroom units up to $900,000 for upper range three bedroom units.
