Things just keep warming up as we head into the holiday season and the Miami Broward Carnival surely turns it up. With celebrations starting a week before Columbus Day weekend, you’ll get everything you expect out of Carnival and more. October 4, the weekend before Columbus Day gives you a “mini” preview of the main celebrations with the adorable ‘Junior Carnival.’ Talented kids put their best foot forward at the Junior Mas Bands Parade, competing for the coveted King and Queen Titles. A great family-friendly event, there’ll be face painting, games and more to keep every junior attendee engaged.

As the big weekend arrives, get ready to witness an explosion of hot talent on the 9^th with the Kings, Queens and Individuals Panorama Show and Competition. Foot-thumping music will fill the air as steelbands compete for “Panorama Champion” and prize money. Later in the day, masqueraders put on a fabulous show in the most elaborate costumes you’ll ever see.

And finally on October 11, more than 18,000 participants from over 20 masquerade bands will dance to pulsating music at the Miami-Dade Fairgrounds. Simply follow the grand music truck to the main stage where all the excitement unfolds. Masqueraders will unleash the story behind their portrayals, giving you a real taste of the rich Caribbean traditions, culture and heritage. Champions of the parade will not only get bragging rights, but also hefty prize money.

Stay a little longer and you’ll get a chance to witness the best international Caribbean talent at the Carnival Concert with world-class acts and performances. Since no celebration is complete without food, more than 50 vendors will be present to feed the crowds.
