Bay Harbor Islands: The Quaint Neighborhood off of Miami Beach is Abuzz with New Condos

Bay Harbor Islands: The Quaint Neighborhood off of Miami Beach is Abuzz with New Condos

Dec 05, 2022 December 05, 2022

The once sleepy bay town of Bay Harbor Islands, sandwiched between Miami Beach and mainland Miami, is undergoing a Renaissance of late. This small neighborhood has recently come alive with a flurry of new construction activity, as old 1950s buildings, long past their prime, are bought and cleared for new, boutique, waterfront condos. Clean, quiet, and pristine, this almost forgotten piece of Miami real estate had stood unnoticed for way too long, considering the building boom of the early 2000s skipped over this part of town.

With new zoning rules in place, and a prime waterfront location, Bay Harbor Islands is in for a revival. A multitude of developers has been drawn to the area given the recent surge in demand for luxury housing as South Florida becomes the destination region to live and work. Not to mention, the scarcity of developable waterfront parcels.

What’s Bay Harbor Islands Like? Is Bay Harbor Islands a Good Place to Live?

Surrounded by Biscayne Bay, and with a quintessential small-town feel, this island community’s location is hard to beat as it is only a mile from world-class shopping at Bal Harbour Shops and the ocean. An incredibly safe, family-friendly neighborhood, a K-8 school, quaint bistros, fine dining, and boutique retail are all an easy walk. This is also where you’ll find some of the softest sands and secluded beach fronts at Bal Harbour and Surfside.

Living in Bay Harbor Islands will always carry a sense of community and island retreat-vibe, considering the islands are almost exclusively residential, with many single-family homes, and all other buildings here having strict height limits. For anyone looking to ditch Downtown Miami or Brickell’s high-rise culture for less crowded, boutique living, Bay Harbor Islands affords a great opportunity.

So what are all of the new projects recently announced in Bay Harbour Islands making Miami abuzz? Let’s take a look at all the new condo projects poised to subtlety transform this waterfront neighborhood, and make it one of the most desirable places in all of Miami to live.
