You haven’t kickstarted spring, if you miss the Carnaval Miami Experience. Hosted by the Kiwanis of Little Havana, this week-long carnival brings a variety of events that help you get in the spring spirit while celebrating Latin culture.
The famous Carnaval on the Mile takes place over the weekend on the 2nd and 3rd. This free weekend fest brings you art, jazz, an artist village and fabulous food in Coral Gables. At the same time, Cork & Fork will bring the hottest chefs to Coral Gables and a taste of their culinary best along with a side of international wines, live entertainment and mixology experiences. Fans of Cordials & Candy will enjoy this afterparty on the 2nd with its plethora of fine cordials, coffees and cigars.
On the 8th, Jungle Island comes alive with a Live Gala featuring black ties, Latin-inspired flavors, sounds and sights. And last but not the least, the Calle Ocho music festival winds up the carnaval experience with 20 blocks and 10 stages of fun and music. Savor international eats, folkloric dances and lots of entertainment at this largest Hispanic festival in the country.
Miami Sailing Week: March 4 – 10
Regatta Park, 2699 SW 27th Avenue, Coconut Grove
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this multi-class regatta is back in town to woo the sailor in you. Catch a variety of A-Cats to Lasers, 29ers, I420, C420, 505, F16 and F18s live in action. Watch the competition unfold from land, or up close and personal from sea as you rent a boat. Either way, it’s one of the most anticipated nautical events of the year that has more than 200 sailors vying for top honors.
International Orchid Festival: March 8 – 10
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables
What’s spring without some flowers, or rather a whole bunch of them? Head to the Fairchild Gardens for a whiff of the most romantic and exotic orchids in town. Find more than 10,000 varieties of orchids at this fragrant weekend event. Award-winning orchids will be on display at the Garden House. Some will be in their natural environment sprinkled around the Rainforest. And, lots of lectures and learning stations will be organized to help you and the kids understand these delicate beings more intricately.
Jazz in the Gardens: March 9 – 10

Find the hottest headliners of the jazz industry jamming out at the Hard Rock Stadium this March. Miami Open: March 18 – 31
Hard Rock Stadium, 347 Don Shula Dr, Miami Gardens
After a rocking jazz festival, Miami Gardens will be ready to welcome the best in international tennis talent for this annual tournament. Personally, I am sad to see this leave Key Biscayne this year and end up in the Hard Rock Stadium, but the world is indeed always changing! This is one of the premier tennis events in the world and a must-see on most local and travel itineraries. For two whole weeks, Miami will be bustling with tennis superstars, celebrities, avid fans and lots of parties, making it one of the most exciting time of year to be here.
Miami Music Week: March 25 – 31

This grand music festival brings the most sensational acts from across the globe to Miami. The Winter Music Conference leads the lineup from the 25th to 28th of March. The International Dance Music Awards follow on the 28th. And, the most electrifying event on the planet (and a favorite among spring breakers), the ULTRA Music festival takes place from the 29th to the 31st. Throughout this week full of exciting acts, expect your favorite Clubs from around the city to host parties, after parties and a bunch of special events.
Deering Seafood Festival: March 25
