Miami Attractions Month: May 1-30

Attractions month continues into May, so you can take advantage of ongoing discounts and plan a visit around the city’s many museums and landmarks. Cinco De Mayo Fiesta: May 5

It’s the two-day block party celebrating Mexico’s independence, and everyone’s invited. With tickets starting at $15, you get access to live beats spun by DJ Laz, several mariachi performances, endless margaritas, live luchadros, mechanical bull rides, authentic Mexican eats and much more. Set up to overlook the water, this colorful fiesta also features games and a kids’ zone.
Rolling Loud Festival: May 10-12
347 Don Shula Dr, Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens
Catch more than 100 artists setting the stage on fire at this epic hip-hop fest’s five-year anniversary. This year’s line-up includes the likes of Cardi B, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Travis Scott, Tyga, Kid Cudi and many more. The 3-day general admission tickets start at $339, while VIP slots are already sold out.
New Times’ Brew at The Zoo: May 11

Love beer? Then there’s a cold one with your name on it at the Zoo this year! The annual brew at the zoo fest is back with more than 100 local, international and craft beers up for sampling. Grammy award-winning bilingual band Loco por Juana will be performing live with their unique fusion of reggae, punk, cumbia, salsa and rock. Tickets start at $40.
Mother’s Day: May 12

Mark your calendars as the 12th of May is Mother’s Day this year. If you’re in Miami, there is plenty to do and enjoy with mommy. Starting off with cruises, the Deering Estate is hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch & Bay Cruise. There’s also the Biscayne Lady Luxury Yacht that takes off from the Bayside Marketplace and features an unlimited buffet and premium open bar.
Speaking of food, you could book mom a spectacular brunch, lunch or dinner for her special day from a choice of over 100 restaurants here. Redland International Orchid Festival: May 17-19

Enjoy a fragrant weekend admiring the natural beauty of exotic orchids at the Fruit & Spice Park. Over 60 vendors from around the world will have these colorful blooms on display for three whole days. Along with the showing, there will be raffles, expert lectures and supplies for sale. Tickets start at $3 for kids and $10 for adults.
Coconut Grove Food & Wine Festival: May 25

Another highly anticipated food and wine event, this year’s festival finds itself set against the dazzling backdrop of the Biscayne Bay. Not only will you find mouthwatering dishes from famous chefs, caterers and Coconut Grove’s latest restaurants, but also the finest restaurants in the district. Expect the likes of Flannigan’s, Harrys Pizzeria, The Mayfair Kitchen, Monty’s and more to be dishing out their best.
Besides delicious eats, a wine garden, rum bars, craft beer, live music, culinary demos, kids’ zone, a Harley Davidson display and after party will give you and your dear ones plenty to look forward to. Tickets start at $25 a person, while children under 12 and leashed canines get in for free.
Memorial Day Weekend Air & Sea Show and Musical Explosion: May 25-26
Lummus Park, Ocean Drive, South Beach
Enjoy a two-day prelude to Memorial Day on the 28th. This National Salute to America’s Heroes features air, land and sea events meant to bedazzle irrespective of age. The sea events begin at 11 am on the 25th and feature a jet ski freestyle exhibit, wakeboard demo, flyboard demo, stunt kite exhibit and powerboat racing show. The air events start at noon and include fly-bys by the likes of an F-16 Fighting Falcon, B-52 Bomber, F-22 Raptor, C-130 Hercules and more. There will also be precision exercises by special ops teams as well as demos by the parachute team by the end of the day.
The monster motocross demos, a timberworks lumberjack show and interactive military displays are all meant to keep the kids engaged.
Drop by on Sunday to experience the full musical explosion on the beach featuring the USAF Honor Guard Drill Team, USAF Max Impact Band, U.S. ARMY As You Were Band, Flo Rida and the U.S. Army Golden Knights special night-pyro parachute demo, all concluded by a fireworks extravaganza.
Best of The Best Music Fest: May 26
301 Biscayne Blvd, Bayfront Park, Downtown
Another awesome way to spend this Memorial Day weekend. This is the 13th edition of this power-charged music fest. This year’s lineup of live performances includes the Emperor, Shabba Ranks, The Don Dadda, Jahmiel, Stylo G and many more. Kids get in free with adults, and tickets start at $49.
