GroundUp Music Festival: February 3-5

Miami Beach Bandshell 7275 Collins Avenue, North Beach + Faena Theater, 3201 Collins Avenue, Mid-Beach

This 3-day jam session on Miami's north coast is known for its laid-back vibe and stacked lineups. Highlighting talented artists from diverse backgrounds, the annual event features music ranging from next-gen jazz to classic rock, funk, and world music. The headliner this year will be Isaiah Sharkey, followed by a lineup inclusive of Snarky Puppy, Madison Cunningham, Silvana Estrada, Lizz Wright, Keyon Harrold, and others. There will also be masterclasses, workshops, meet-ups, late-night jam sessions, brunches, and more special events. 

Heritage Fest 2023 - Black Resistance: February 4

Thomson Plaza for the Arts, Adrienne Arsht Center, 1300 Biscayne Blvd, Arts & Entertainment District

In line with national Black History Month celebrations, this 4-hour representation will showcase the strength and perseverance of the African diaspora. Free for the community, the event will feature a meet-and-greet with DJ Nickymix, a dance workshop, children's book readings, a vendor marketplace, community mural painting, and other performances.

Miami International Boat Show: February 15-19

Coconut Grove Arts Festival: February 18-20

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival returns in all its glory for its 59th edition along Coconut Grove's stunning waterfront. Named one of America's premier arts festivals, more than 280 internationally-recognized and jury-selected artists will be taking part in this spectacular show.

Equally fun for the budding aficionado to seasoned collectors and families, this 3-day outdoor art festival will also feature a 6-container, pyramid-style canvas called The Stacks, a kitchen showdown among top chefs and mixologists, an Inner Artist corner for make-and-take art, live performances, and much more. Gay8 (Gay Ocho) Festival: February 19

Calle Ocho Miami's SW 8th Street from 14th to 17th Avenues, Little Havana

Hosted by the LGBTQ+ and Hispanic/Latino community, Gay8 is nothing short of an annual tradition in Little Havana. Expect to enjoy live music, dance parties, a film showcase, a fashion show, and lots of cultural representation and diversity at this colorful festival.

South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF 2023): February 23-26

With more than 100 mouthwatering culinary events to choose from, SOBEWFF will be back to rock the beachfront as one of America's most prestigious gourmet gatherings. For 22 years, the 4-day destination event has been showcasing the best and most talented of chefs, wine and spirits producers, culinary personalities, and other industry experts for a headline-grabbing extravaganza.

Embedding Images into Encaustic Painting + Advanced Encaustic Texture Techniques: February 18-19 + 20

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables

Helping you decode the complex world of encaustic painting, Andrea Clement will be leading both workshops to help students create and take home 2 encaustic pieces that they have made from their own photographs. While the first workshop is open to novices, the advanced class is best suited for returning students with a basic understanding.

This February, the Frost Museum of Science has two fantastic events scheduled for kids. On the 11th, join your little ones for four hours of legendary music, laser lights, and a whole lot of fun under the museum's 67-foot dome with Laser Evening.

On the 12th, have your little ones (ages 2 to 5) explore the freezing and melting points of water through tactile sensory activity part of their Loving Hands experiments.

Free Family Fun Day - History Fair: February 11

HistoryMiami Museum, 101 W Flagler Street, Downtown Miami

With the theme "Frontiers in History," HistoryMiami Museum welcomes you to explore the projects exhibited by middle and high school-age students in the categories of paper, performance, documentary, and website. There will also be an afternoon guided tour of "Stories of Resistance from Black Miami: From Civil Rights to BLM," followed by a guided tour of "Tropical Dreams," a history of pirates. 

Mini Valentine's Monday + Black History Celebration: February 13 + 25-26

Miami Children's Museum, 980 MacArthur Causeway, Watson Island

Kick-off Valentine's Day celebrations with your little one as you dress up in red, decorate cards, and cook with love for the museum's Mini Valentine's Monday. Also taking place this month is a Black History Celebration, complete with Fellows from New World Symphony performing classical music, an interactive performance and drumming workshop, engaging story time, plus an art session of creating colorful circles inspired by the crocheted mandalas of Xenobia Bailey.

Teen Takeover of The Bass: February 16

This free, monthly program will feature creative art programs developed for teens, by teens. Enroll your middle or high schoolers for double the fun, as they learn how to make awesome tote bags and stick around for a figure drawing pop-up in the evening.
