Having spent almost 17 years in this mainly residential locale, Blackbook Properties’ luxury condo expert Sep Niakan takes you on his bright and sunny morning walk through this Edgewater, Miami, one of the city’s most popular waterfront neighborhoods.
Filmed in December, with a balmy winter morning temperature of 79° F/ 26° C, this scenic walking tour takes you through Margaret Pace Park and onto the Venetian Causeway.
Besides being popular among walkers, joggers, and runners, the bayfront Margaret Pace Park is also a hot favorite among dog lovers, picnickers, and sports enthusiasts. The 8-acre park features two lighted tennis hard courts, two sand volleyball courts, one basketball court, personal fitness equipment, a gated playground, and more. The Venetian Causeway connects the mainland to Miami Beach, and again, makes a scenic seaside escape to clear your mind or simply absorb the sights and sounds of Miami.

What Makes Edgewater One of Miami’s Most Loved Residential Neighborhoods?
Quite simply, Edgewater sits in one of the most convenient and central locations in Miami that also happens to be waterfront. It is a short walk from shopping in Midtown, a mile from Wynwood’s eclectic art-scape, a bike ride from Downtown’s Adrienne Arsht Center or Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), and a quick scenic drive across the Venetian Causeway from South Beach.
Edgewater also ranks as the second-best neighborhood to live in Miami according to U.S. neighborhood and school ranking site niche.com. The bayfront community gets an ‘A’ on ‘Good for Families,’ ‘Outdoor Activities,’ and ‘Health & Fitness.’
The neighborhood also comes peppered with restaurants, featuring a variety of flavors at every turn including the waterfront, fine dining Amara at Paraiso. It is home to a Publix, two Starbucks, multiple grocery and convenience stores. Residents find a great selection of preschools and private schools closer home, including Centner Academy and BridgePrep Academy (charter school). It is also serviced by the free Miami Trolley and one of the main Metrorail stations, besides multiple Metrobus stops.
Edgewater, Miami Condo Buildings & Living Options
Owing to the above, Edgewater offers some of the best waterfront value in Miami, with its luxury condos being much more affordable than those found in South Beach or Mid-beach or Brickell. You can read more about Edgewater’s luxurious roots and evolution into a safe, family-friendly neighborhood offering affordable luxury (compared to Miami Beach or Downtown), here.
In 2021, four new condo projects were launched with an Edgewater address. This includes the tallest waterfront residential twin towers in the U.S. called Aria Reserve and the One Thousand Museum-inspired 710/729 Edge. Over the past decade, an increasing number of developers and global brands - ranging from the Melo Group to New York-based SB Development Group to Missoni - have turned their attention to this pocket-sized neighborhood.
