The new Walmart store in Midtown Miami is finally under construction.
December 23rd marks the official start date, with the phased permit being issued that day. Construction workers began construction in the week following Christmas 2015.
A Walmart spokesperson recently stated, “The City of Miami’s issuance of a building permit for our new Walmart store in Midtown is another step forward in the development process following the store’s unanimous approval at the City Commission. Our plans enjoy overwhelming support from residents in nearby Wynwood, Overtown, Allapattah and Downtown Miami who are excited about the arrival of hundreds of new jobs and affordable groceries in their neighborhood.”
J. Raymond Construction Corp is the contracting company that is building the new Walmart.
Other projects are under construction or in the planning phase near the new Walmart location, allowing for the residents of several thousand units to purchase groceries from the Midtown Miami Walmart. These include: Midtown 5, Hyde Midtown, District 36, Chiquita, Midtown 29, Triptych, Midtown 6, and Midtown 7.

Lending, specifically FHA lending, is inching forward in favor of Miami Condos. Before President Trump pulls out any game-changers, I thought it would be the right time to reflect on a Bill passed into law by President Obama this August. The...
