Owners of the Sagamore and Ritz-Carlton Hotels in South Beach are merging the two properties in a renovation and development project that includes major changes to both, as well as the construction of a new residential condominium tower.
The proposal to merge the 4.8-acre property that houses the Sagamore, at 1671 Collins Avenue, with the Ritz-Carlton (formerly the historic DiLido Hotel) located at 1 Lincoln Road, includes renovations to both hotels, as well as the erection of a 17-story tower with 50 condo units in the area behind the Sagamore.
The proposed Ritz-Carlton-branded condo tower, designed by Kobi Karp, will feature units ranging from 1,000 to over 2,330 square feet. The project also includes new pools and water features, a beachfront dining area, and state-of-the-art amenities.
Located in the exclusive, laid-back island community of Key Biscayne, the Grand Bay Ritz Carlton Residences is a mixed-use condo hotel, housing residential units, hotel suites, and onsite retail and commercial services, including a spa, salon, boutiques and restaurants.
Owning a residence at the flagship Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne entitles you to revenue sharing in the hotel’s rental income, as well as personal usage of hotel amenities and services.
The building was completed in 2001 with 12 stories and 188 residences.
